Seattle Geek Dinner: Recap

All the pictures of the May Seattle Geek Dinner are up on Flickr. It was a great event with quite the turnout. It was a pleasure to meet Hugh and get a drawing on my card…although I’m not sure why it says “that’s so meta”…The second one he put on that say’s It Scales is definitely for the DMX 3!!

It was a great celebration for the guys over at Other’s Online who closed some financing on Friday. Congratulations guys I can’t wait to see what happens. I also got to talk to Ryan over at NetRiver, they have some great space for hosting and high density colocation. Lots of other interesting people were at the event and some of us hung out for most of the night. Your always welcome back to Seattle Hugh…

It says “that’s so meta” because, as he was starting to draw, you took out a camera, and I exclaimed that now-written-in-ink phrase.

It was more of an existential question…..I’m not sure why the phrase exists at all….A google search turned up some Buffy reference but that’s about it :(

I don’t know where I first heard it… some while ago, I was at a friend’s house and took off my sweatshirt. I happened to be wearing a tshirt with the same logo as the sweatshirt. A friend looked at me, at my discarded sweathshirt, and back and me, and uttered: “that’s so meta!”

But I have no idea where I first heard it either.

This is my first time i visit here. I found so many entertaining stuff in your blog, especially its discussion. From the tons of comments on your articles, I guess I am not the only one having all the leisure here! Keep up the good work.I’ve studied your stuff ahead of and you’re just as well amazing.
