ACM vs. IEEE

Which is better for upcoming IT professionals?

Now that college is under way and students are looking for a place to turn to get into OUR industry…. what’s the BEST place to show the next class of IT professionals the way?

Should they get into the IEEE?

Or is the ACM more beneficial for IT Pros?

    Josh,

    Both organizations are very good. To young professionals, I advise to keep up with both. Over time, they will gravitate toward one or the other depending on who is delivering better value and who is more aligned to their interests.

    I just looked at the poll, ACM is pulling ahead of IEEE finally…I’ll grab the chart at the end of March and post again….

    I think IEEE is more good. because IEEE have more diversification in their knowledge sharing. But of course ACM having their own specifications.

    I am member of both.

    Well, any professional would stand to gain from both! Both are good..
    however as someone pointed out, IEEE has the advantage as it is highly diversified.
    However a professional stands to gain from both!

    I’ve come across that now, more and more people are attracted to cameras and the industry of images. However, being a photographer, you need to first invest so much time period deciding which model of digital camera to buy and also moving from store to store just so you may buy the most affordable camera of the trademark you have decided to choose. But it doesn’t
    end there. You also have to contemplate whether you
    should purchase a digital video camera extended warranty.
